POWER8

I don't want to get too sucked in to paper hardware specs but the headlines are always useful to know. POWER8 will have 12 cores per chip, 8 threads per core, and 6MB/96MB/128MB of cache in tiers. I don't really know where T-Series goes from there, other than being much cheaper of course.

Hello, my name is Kevin Ford and I've been using Linux and UNIX things since about 1995. I'm going to write blog posts about interesting things I've done with *nix and also about news items I've seen in the tech rags that might be of interest to folks working with *nix systems.
